FAQ

What is Ionized Water?
Ionization simply means to gain or lose and electron. Water that has been ionized becomes either alkaline or acidic, meaning that the pH is higher or lower than neutral (7.0).

How is Ionized Water Produced?
Water containing natural minerals runs through an ionization chamber that has positive and negative electrodes powered by a strong electrical charge. It then passes through membranes which separate it into acidic and alkaline waters based on its electrical charge.

Why does Ionized Water have anti-oxidant properties?
Ionized water contains free electrons and an abundance of hydroxyl ions (OH-) which can neutralize free radicals that oxidize and damage tissues.

What makes Ionized Water alkaline?
The presence of alkaline ionic minerals and the abundance of free electrons boost the pH of water. Because no minerals are added, the body uses the negative electrons as it needs them but nothing accumulates in the body.

What is Microclustered Water?
Most water clusters in groups of 10 to 13 molecules in an irregular mass. Ionization creates smaller water clusters with 5 or 6 molecules in a hexagonal shape. The smaller clusters of water are more readily absorbed and utilized by the body.

How does Ionized Water taste?
People typically say that it tastes silky, or smooth. They also notice that it doesn't fill you up and "slosh around" - you can drink a lot of it at once.

How long does Ionized Water retain these special properties?
The presence of hydroxyl ions lasts 18 to 24 hours. The higher pH will last 1 to 2 weeks. The smaller molecular cluster size will last 1 to 3 months. The presence of hydroxyl ions gives the water it's antioxidant effect and negative ORP - the fact that it doesn't last long is why the water cannot be bottled and must be consumed fresh from the water generator attached to your faucet.

What is ORP?
ORP stands for Oxidation-Reduction Potential and is a measure of the positive or negative electrical charge of a liquid. It tells you what potential that liquid has to oxidize or reduce other substances. Liquids with an +ORP are oxidizers, and liquids with an -ORP are reduction agents, or anti-oxidants. Any bottled water, tap water, sports drink or soda that we have tested has a +ORP which means they are adding to the oxidizing load on your body. Ionized water has an -ORP which makes it an anti-oxidant.
